Service description

What is neurology

Neurology is a branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system – the brain, spinal cord and nerves. A neurologist evaluates the functioning of the nervous system, diagnoses the causes of ailments such as headaches, memory disorders, tremors, muscle weakness or dizziness, and then implements appropriate treatment.

In many cases, conservative therapy can be used to effectively alleviate symptoms and prevent them from worsening, while minimizing the risk of requiring surgical intervention.

Diagnostics
in neurology

Accurate diagnosis is key to establishing the correct diagnosis and implementing effective treatment.

  • EEG (electroencephalography) – a study of the bioelectrical activity of the brain, used in the diagnosis of epilepsy, sleep disorders or syncope,

  • EMG (electromyography) – evaluation of neuromuscular conduction, helpful in the diagnosis of neuropathies and muscle diseases,

  • Doppler ultrasound of the carotid and vertebral arteries – a study of blood flow in the cerebral vessels,

  • MRI and CT scans – imaging of brain and spinal cord structures to detect traumatic, inflammatory, neoplastic or degenerative changes.

Conservative treatment in neurology

Depending on the diagnosis, we use therapy methods individually tailored to the patient, including:

Pharmacotherapy:

  • antiepileptic drugs,

  • Painkillers and anti-migraine drugs,

  • Drugs that improve blood supply to the brain and support nervous system function,

  • Preparations used in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease).

Rehabilitation and supportive therapy:

  • Physiotherapy and kinesitherapy – restore fitness after strokes, injuries and in chronic diseases,

  • Speech therapy – supportive in speech disorders and after strokes,

  • Psychotherapy and psychological support – important in chronic diseases and in coping with neurological ailments.

Monitoring and prevention

Regular neurological check-ups allow early detection of changes in the functioning of the nervous system and prevent the development of more serious conditions. We also offer preventive programs aimed at patients with risk factors, including cardiovascular disease or a family history of neurological diseases.

At CARELIFE CLINIC, we provide comprehensive neurological care, state-of-the-art diagnostics and effective treatment, tailored to the needs and expectations of each patient.
