Visceral physiotherapy at CARELIFE CLINIC
At CARELIFE CLINIC, we make every effort to ensure that the treatment process is comprehensive and individually tailored to the needs of each patient. One of the elements of such a holistic approach is visceral physiotherapy, i.e. manual therapy within the internal organs of the abdominal cavity.

Many of the ailments with which patients come to physiotherapy have their origins not only in the musculoskeletal system, but also in disorders of internal organs, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Abnormal tensions, restrictions of mobility or abdominal adhesions can affect the imbalance of the entire body and manifest themselves in non-specific ways – for example, spinal pain, muscle tension or disruption of the respiratory or circulatory systems.
Moreover, immediate physiological problems such as:
- SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth syndrome),
- Helicobacter pylori,
- irritable bowel syndrome (IBS),
- Food intolerances (e.g., lactose, fructose, gluten),
- Inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g., Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis),
- gastroesophageal reflux,
- Or chronic constipation and intestinal transit disorders,
can significantly affect pain and muscle tension throughout the body. These dysfunctions can cause soft tissue overload, postural abnormalities and compensatory responses within the musculoskeletal system, leading to chronic pain and functional limitations.
Therefore, it is important that the therapeutic process does not focus solely on symptoms, but looks for the root causes of the problem, also taking into account the condition and functioning of the digestive system and other internal systems.
Visceral physiotherapy can be helpful for, among other things:
- Chronic back pain (especially thoracic and lumbar),
- joint pains (hip joints, knee joints, shoulder joints) that are not clearly confirmed by imaging studies,
- Muscle tension disorders and abnormal posture,
- Digestive problems (bloating, constipation, reflux),
- Diaphragm and respiratory ailments,
- Vascular disorders – such as a feeling of heaviness in the legs, disorders of venous circulation,
- Migraines and tension headaches.
The goal of visceral therapy is to restore the natural mobility and tension balance of tissues in the abdominal cavity, thereby improving organ function and alleviating distant symptoms – even those not directly related to the digestive system at first glance.
Therapy is conducted manually, in a safe and gentle manner, by experienced therapists who are knowledgeable in the interrelationships between body systems and can look at the problem in a multidimensional way.
In some cases, a broader diagnostic view is the key to successful therapy. That’s why at CARELIFE CLINIC we offer the opportunity to expand the therapeutic process to include:
- abdominal imaging study,
- internal medicine consultation,
- dietary consultation, which in many cases – especially with gastrointestinal disorders – is an integral part of comprehensive treatment.
Visceral physiotherapy at CARELIFE CLINIC is part of our holistic approach to health – combining state-of-the-art medical knowledge, multi-specialist collaboration and an attentive view of the patient as a whole.
